Making Healthy Choices

One of the good things about summer time is more availability of fruits and veggies. These are the foods that do the most healing for our bodies. However it is important to be aware of your choices in the produce section. By now most of us are aware that organic foods are cleaner. There is tons of research out there showing what GMOs, pesticides and chemicals do to us. GMOs are especially scary. The studies show that in rats, consumption of GMOs over just a few weeks can create pre-cancerous cells, shrink brains, atrophy livers, and damage the immune system! GMO's have penetrated a lot of our food supply now and this "experiment" has been a big factor in the rise of allergies, autoimmune illnesses, and chronic mystery conditions.

The Biggest complaint I hear is that organic is so expensive.

My motto has always been "pay now or pay later."

However, that being said there is a way to help you and your family if you cannot afford all organic.

1) Wash or soak your produce really well with 3% H202 or Thieves Food Wash (available here)

2) Make sure these foods are only organic, as they have chemicals that cannot be removed:

All Leafy Greens (Lettuces, Kale, Spinach, etc)

All Berries & Grapes, except Blueberries

All Potatoes, except Sweet Potatoes

Peas

3) Avoid wax as much as possible. If present peel it off. It contains MSG!

4) Peel conventional tree fruit (Apples, Plums, Pears, etc.) In general, the thicker the skin, the safer the fruit.

5) Avoid these conventional foods as they are GMO:

Zucchini and Yellow Squash

All Berries & Grapes, except Blueberries

Peas

All Potatoes, except Sweet Potatoes
